E.ON has announced massive price increases of 16% on electricity and 26% on gas, effectively imediately. To mitigate the blow to the UK's energy consumers, E.ON has also launched a number of new Price Freeze tariffs.

E.ON's move follows in the footsteps of EDF Energy and British Gas who announced strong increases last month.
